What is “Prayas”

Since its inception in 2002, ‘PRAYAS’ has been one of the leading Polytechnic Tech-Fest in Mumbai. Now it has been shaped into an education outreach programme of Department of Electronics, Premlila Vithaldas Polytechnic. SNDT Women’s University to foster innovation and creativity through STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics).

‘PRAYAS’ provides platform to  students of schools and Polytechnics across the state to develope their innovation and creativity through various workshops and competitions . During its annual two days festival students showcase their projects, innovations, prototypes  to the outside world.

For last two years PRAYAS festival has witnessed  number of visitors  from Industry and academia.  Workshops (Technical and Hobby science), Seminars, Quiz contest, Paper presentations were attended by number of students from polytechnics, schools, ITIs across Mumbai. . Prayas especially worked for developing interest in Electronics among school students and create awareness about various career opportunities in the field of Electronics Engineering.

 

Objectives of “Prayas” are:

● To promote innovation and entrepreneurship.
● STEM skills development
● Foster lifelong learning
